The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has taken strict action against 20 students for carrying mobile phones into exam halls during the Class 10 Madhyamik exams. These students were disqualified after violating the board's rule prohibiting electronic devices inside examination centers.

Board President Ramanuj Ganguly stated that only a few designated officials are allowed to carry mobile phones, while all others must deposit their devices before entering. Students from South 24 Parganas, Uttar Dinajpur, Coochbehar, Alipurduar, and Bankura were found violating this rule. On the final day of the exam, three more students were caught and barred from writing their papers.
Authorities had strictly warned against carrying mobile phones, emphasizing that any violation would lead to disqualification.
